Linda Diane Johnson, beloved wife, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on April 30, 2025, in Wichita, Kansas, at the age of 63, after battling cancer for eight years. Born on November 19, 1961, in Harvey, Illinois, Linda was a beacon of warmth and love in the lives of all who knew her.
Linda was dedicated to knowledge, earning a Master's Degree in Education. She was known for inspiring those around her, fostering a love for learning that would leave a lasting impact on many.
On February 21, 1986, Linda married her companion and best friend, George Johnson, in Ponca City, Oklahoma. Together, they shared a remarkable journey of 39 years filled with love, laughter, and adventure. They built a beautiful home on their farm, a symbol of their shared dreams and dedication to each other. Their happy memories included numerous fantastic vacations, experiences that strengthened their bond and enriched their lives together.
Linda had a deep love for animals, particularly horses, cats, and dogs. Her affection for these animals was a reflection of her caring nature and her ability to connect with the world around her.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Robert McCord and Hazel (Courtrite) McCord, who instilled in her the values of love, kindness, and resilience that she carried throughout her life.
She is survived by her loving husband, George Johnson, her sister, Karen (Morris) Salge, her brothers, Steve (Terri) McCord and Russell (Toni) McCord, and many cherished nieces and nephews, each of whom she adored deeply.
Linda's legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her spirit remains a guiding light, inspiring those who were fortunate enough to have known her.
