Linda Lee Ahlstedt Carr passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at the Via Christi Hospital in Wichita, Kansas.
Celebration of life services will be held Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Zion Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at the Mission Hill Cemetery in Smolan, Kansas under the direction of Potts Chapel.
Visitation hours will be from 8:00a.m. 8:00p.m., Monday, October 6, 2014, with the family receiving friends 6:00p.m. 8:00p.m. at Potts Chapel.
Memorials are suggested to the Zion Lutheran Building Fund.
Linda was born September 1, 1940 at Salina, Kansas the daughter of Darrel and Cleo Ahlstedt. She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Mary Lynne Ahlstedt.
She graduated from Kansas State University and was employed by KState as the Home Economics Extension Agent in Montgomery County for 41 years, during which time she received her doctorate in Education.
Linda married Dale R. Carr on June 30, 1963. They had three daughters Terri Jennings and husband Ed of Moline, KS., Twila Divine of Bartlesville, OK., and Tricia Simmons and husband Kevin of Bolton, KS. Six grandchildren Carson Jennings, Becky Johnson, Zackary Divine, Jenna Divine, Halie Martin, Jonathan Simmons and 2 greatgrandchildren.
Linda was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, FCE, the Independence Garden Club, and the International Foreign Youth Exchange and enjoyed attending the grandchildrens various activities.
