Lillian Frances Moyer, 101, passed away peacefully at Montgomery Place, Saturday, January 13th, 2024. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 23rd, 2024, at Potts Chapel at 1:00pm. Potts Chapel has been entrusted with the services. Memorials are suggested to the Independence Garden Club at PO Box 506, Independence, KS 67301 and can also be left with the funeral home.
Lillan was born on March 10th, 1922, in Independence, Kansas. She was the daughter of George and Anna (Frye) Wilson. She lived most of her childhood by the Uricks Mill. She married Virgil Luther Moyer on June 28th, 1941, in Missouri. Together they raised cattle and pigs.
She was the choir director, the Sunday school and vacation bible schoolteacher at the church of the Brethern. Lillian was a homemaker and also an avid gardener. She enjoyed growing flowers and vegetables. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
Lillian is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Mary Lou Tyler; siblings: Vergil Wilson, Wayne Wilson, Richard Wilson, Ruth Roland, Allen Wilson, Pauline Dodds, George Wilson Jr., and Jimmie Wilson; and grandsons Charles Eugene Tucker Jr. and Travis Lee Tyler; and great grandson Blake Luther Hise.
Those left to cherish her memory are daughters: Bonnie Jean Tucker and Kathryn Ann Kinnamon; grandchildren: Christie, Shelly and Cain; 17 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.
