Lila June Bryant, 70, of Cherryvale, Kansas passed away Thursday, November 7th, 2013 at Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas.
Memorial Celebration Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 23, 2013 at the Kingdom Hall in Independence, Kansas, with Gerald Hudson officiating. Flowers may be delivered to Potts Chapel of Cherryvale up until 9:00 am the day of the service. Memorials may be made in her name to the World Wide Work of Jehovahs Witnesses and may be left at Potts Chapel of Cherryvale or Independence.
Lila was born to Virgil and Elsie Zimmerman Foster on November 23, 1942 in Fairview, Oklahoma. She spent the majority of her younger life in Altamont, Kansas, but called Cherryvale, Kansas home for the past 38 years. Lila attended and graduated from LCCHS of Altamont, Kansas and from Labette Community College where she earned her Associates in Nursing. After graduation she worked as a Registered Nurse and retired from the Parsons State Hospital. Lila worked as a volunteer for CASA, which was a court appointed special advocate for children. As one of Jehovahs Witnesses, Lila was an Evangelizer and attended the Kingdom Hall in Independence, Kansas. Lila served as a volunteer member of the Regional Building Committee, traveling the area assisting with the building and remodeling of Kingdom Halls.
Lila was married to the love of her life, Ron, for almost 53 years. She was a caregiver, a mother, a grandmother, and a nurse, always giving to those around her.
Lila is preceded in death by her parents and 4 of her siblings.
Lila is survived by her husband Ron Bryant of Cherryvale, Kansas, her three sons Randy Bryant of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Rick Bryant and wife Lori of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and Rodney Bryant of Independence, Kansas her two daughters Lasha McPherson and husband Mac of Cherryvale, Kansas and Lana Whittley and husband Aaron of Cherryvale, Kansas one sister Sandra McClenning of Parsons, Kansas she also has 12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and a host of step grandchildren and step great grand children.
