June Shannon

September 7, 1932 — April 16, 2025

June Shannon departed this world on April 16, 2025, at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. She was born on September 7, 1932, June was a dedicated homemaker known for her homemade treats during the holiday seasons.

Throughout her life, June found joy through conversation with her loved ones every Sunday afternoon and cultivating her love of flowers and gardening. Her proudest moments were the moments spent with her loved ones on Sunday afternoons and during the holidays when she hosted the Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. She would serve her homemade chicken and noodles along with many other amazing dishes.

June is survived by her devoted son, Terry Shannon, and her daughter, Tracy Etzold. She also leaves behind her sisters, Shirley Lyles and Susan Smith. The love she shared extended to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren that remember the times they would play with army men and the big building blocks in GG’s playroom.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Bill Shannon, and their daughter, Vicki Bobo. She also mourned the loss of her wonderful mother Mary Lyles and father James Lyles, her brother Harry Lyles, her sisters, Janet Lyles, Maxine Stephan and Betty Driskel, Joan Marquardt and Joyce Jones.

A graveside service to honor June’s life will be held on Tuesday April 22, 2025, in Liberty, Kansas. The ceremony will commence at 1:00 PM, with final rites concluding at 2:00 PM.

June Shannon will forever be remembered for the integral role she played in bringing her family together for many years of her life.
