LAUREL RUSTY ELAINE GOODWIN NEWS MEDIA NOTIFICATION Laurel Rusty Elaine, AGE 81, of Joplin, Missouri died Monday, February 1, 2010 at the National Health Care in Joplin, Missouri Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, February 6, 2010 at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas. Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Elk City, Kansas. Visitation hours will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, February 5, 2010 with the family receiving friends from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas. On September 11, 1928 Laurel was born in Melvern, Kansas to Melvin and Gladys Booth Williamson. Rusty worked for BMA in Chanute and in Kansas City and was a Trust Officer at Leavenworth Bank. She had been retired for several years. She was a member of the Lady Elks and the Ladies Organization for the Shriners of North America. Survivors include her husband Alfred Earl Goodwin of Joplin, Missouri two sons Stephen L. Alcock of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Michael D. Alcock of Springfield, Missouri six grandchildren Melissa Wicker, Chad Alcock, Erin Streetman, Cara Goodwin, Joal Goodwin and Blake Goodwin four great grandchildren Caitlin Wicker, Christian Wicker, Caden Streetman and Brooke Streetman. Rusty is remembered as a loving mother by her two sons: Stephen and Michael Alcock and a wonderful grandmother by her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
