Larry Magee

Larry Gene Magee, age 69, of Caney, Kansas died Saturday, December 18, 2010 at the Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at the Sunnyside Cemetery under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. Visitation hours will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, December 20, 2010 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. The family has suggested memorials to the Arvest Bank in care of Larry Magee and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. Larry was born April 20, 1941 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma to Franklin Jim James and Dulica Bowland Magee. Larry grew up in Herd, Oklahoma and graduated from the Bowring High School. On September 9, 1974 Larry married Patty Shaver in Miami, Oklahoma. Larry worked for the Bowring School System as a bus driver and mechanic. He was a member of the Elks Lodge. Survivors include his wife Patty of the home six sons Roger Magee of Boulanger, Oklahoma, Rodney Magee of Neodesha, Kansas, Richard Magee of Oologah, Oklahoma, Randy Magee of Caney, Kansas, Lee Hofstrom of Independence, Kansas and Keith Hofstrom of Liberty, Kansas one daughter Penny Adams of Caney, Kansas one brother Charles Magee of Tulsa, Oklahoma one sister Betty Horton of Tulsa, Oklahoma 17 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren one special nephew Randy Charlie and many friends. Larry was preceded in death by his parents one sister Vergie, two brothers Bob and Jim one grandchild Maria and one great grandchild Ryker.
