Larry Duke

A graveside service will be held Friday, April 1st, 2022 at Mount Hope Cemetery at 1:00pm.

Larry Gene Duke aged 78 of Independence, Kansas Passed away Sunday January 9th, 2022 at Medicalodges in Independence, Kansas.

Larry was born on October 17th, 1943in Independence, Kansas to Royal and Pearl (Fultz) Duke.

He grew up in Independence and graduated from Independence High School. He served in the Army from 1965-1967 with time in Vietnam and trained in water purification.

When he got out of the Army, he went to work for Murrell Roofing Company in Independence, Kansas.

He is survived by his sister Rosemary Hull of St. Joseph, Missouri. James Duke and wife Rebecca of Independence, Kansas. Bessie Meadows and husband Dean of Elk City, Kansas. Robin Shull of Neodesha, Kansas. Rodney Duke of Elk City, Kansas. And eighteen nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews as well.

He is proceeded in death by his parents Royal and Pearl Duke. Brothers, Bob Duke, Leroy Duke, Charles Duke, and John David Duke.

A celebration of life service will be held Friday, January 14th, 2022, at Potts Chapel at 1:00pm. Burial will be held at a later date. Visitation will be Thursday, 5:00-7:00pm.
