Larry Dean Barker peacefully departed this world to meet his Lord on Tuesday, November 14, 2023. Larry Dean Barker was born October 21, 1950 at Independence, KS, the son of Henry Barker and Mattie (Brown) Barker.  He graduated from Independence High School.

He was employed at various jobs during his lifetime and retired at Charloma Inc. in 2018.

He was a faithful member of Young’s Chapel Church Of God In Christ.

He leaves to cherish his memory his three daughters, Alissa Mack, Felicia Jameson and Lamaiya Barker all of Wichita, KS.  Five brothers Eugene Barker, Robert Barker and Joseph Barker all of Independence; Danny Barker of North Little Rock, AR and Frankie Barker of Oklahoma City, OK; two sisters Pearlene Barker and Sharon Barker of Independence; six grandchildren, and four great grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Larry was proceeded in death by his parents Henry and Mattie Barker and his sister Alene Barker.

Service will be held on Monday, November 27, 2023 at the United Methodist Church at 1:00 p.m.  Burial will be at Harrisonvile Cemetery.
