Larry Barker

Larry Darnell Barker, 60, of Independence, Kansas passed away Friday May 30, 2014 at his home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday June 5, 2014 at the Pleas Temple Church of God in Christ, 19th and Pine, Independence, Kansas with Elder Charles Barker Senior officiating.
Burial will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery in Independence, Kansas under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas.
Visitation hours will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2014 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Potts Chapel in Independence.
The family had suggested memorials to the Pleas Temple Church of God in Christ and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas.
Larry was born May 10, 1954 in Independence, Kansas the son of Reynolds and Mary Jones Green. He grew up in Independence and attended the Independence School System.
Larry worked in the maintenance department for several businesses in Independence until his health forced him to retire.
He was a member of the Pleas Temple Church of God in Christ.
Survivors include his mother Mary L. and husband Chester Green of Independence, Ks., four sons Elder Charles Barker Sr. of Independence, Ks., Reynolds E. Barker III of Independence, Ks., Antonieo Barker of Fort Worth, Tx., Gary Barker of Sacramento , Calf., two sisters LaDonna Cosey of Moreno Valley, Calif., and Morticia Johnson of Keller, Tx. As well as several uncles, aunts and Nephews and nieces.
