Lacy Powers

December 2, 2005 — January 18, 2019

Lacy May Powers was born December 2, 2005 at Mercy Hospital in the city of Independence, Kansas. Lacy has since lived in San Bernardino, California, Neodesha, Kansas, and Independence, Kansas. She is survived by her father James Powers and big brothers Ethan Powers and Daemon James Patton, of Neodesha, Kansas. Lacy is also survived by her favorite uncle, Starlight Wilson, her aunt, Jamie Ellen Powers, and uncle, Reno Shuster. Lacy's surviving siblings include; Stephanie Powers, Julian Powers, Adrian Powers, Avery Reyes, Lucian Fosnight, Raven McLaughlin, Keena Marcelino, Brantley Kempt, and Noah Corish. Additionally, Lacy leaves her treasured friend and cousin, Sara Reign Bale, her little nephew, Phoenix Palito and her mother, her dearest aunt, Brandy Powers, with whom she resided here in Independence.
Lacy has extended family who also survives her, being Dean and Jennifer Markham, who will always consider her their precious girl, and by Orlo and Carol Paget, Lacy's doting surrogate grandparents.
Lacy had an infinite amount of love and devotion to all of her family, which on this earth will now be incomplete without her.
Lacy loved animals, especially her own kitty Izzy. She loved to eat spinach and didn't mind eating it right from the can. She preferred salad to candy and loved ramen noodles with lots of butter, the way her daddy made them for her when she was little. Lacy was funny, remarkably thoughtful, resilient, and she had a beautiful singing voice, and although only fairly recently began playing the Tuba, she found she had a knack for it and enjoyed playing it in the Independence Middle School band. Lacy had a servant's heart and was continuously dreaming up fun ways to create surprises for those she loved.
This remarkable little girl found her joy, in bringing joy to others. This, our beautiful and treasured Lacy died tragically, and far too soon on 1/18/2019.
