Kenneth Eugene Smith, age 86, of Cherryvale, Kansas died Monday, February 8, 2010 at his home in Cherryvale, Kansas. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 12, 2010 at the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale, Kansas. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale, Kansas. Visitation hours will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.,Thursday, February 11, 2010 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale, Kansas. The family has suggested memorials to the Disabled American Veterans, Arthritis Foundation or the National Emphysema Foundation and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale, Kansas. Kenneth Julio Eugene Smith was born April 19, 1923 in Cherryvale, Kansas to John Leonard and Lena Leola Gilliland Smith. He grew up in Cherryvale, Kansas. In February 1943 Kenneth enlisted in the United States Air Force and served until his retirement on March 31, 1965. On April 5, 1947 Kenneth married Patricia Ann Dotson in Cherryvale, Kansas. The couple moved back to Cherryvale, Kansas in 1970. Kenneth was a member of the VFW. Survivors include his wife Patricia of the home one son Davey Smith of Blue Springs, Missouri three daughters Vicki Kirby of Keswick, Virginia, Pam Baker of Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Teresa Smith of Independence, Kansas 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
