Karla Ann Craig, 57, passed away on Wednesday July 18, 2018 surrounded by her family in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Karla Ann (Ransbottom) Craig was born on August 8, 1960 to Elvin and Melvena (Newton) Ransbottom in Independence, Kansas. Karla graduated from the Independence Bible School in 1978. She then attended vocational school and earned her degree as a med aid. On June 21, 1986, Karla married Dale Craig in Independence, KS were the two made their home. Karla and her family attended the First Baptist Church in Independence. Karla loved to spend her time embroidering, gardening and tending to her lilies, putting together puzzles, and completing crossword puzzles. Most of all, she cherished the time she spent with her friends and family. She adored the time she spent with her grandchildren, especially the sleep overs at grandma's house.
Karla is preceded in death by her parents, Elvin and Melvena (Newton) Ransbottom.
Those left to cherish Karla's memory; husband, Dale Craig, daughters, Tabitha and husband John Easley Jr. of Independence, KS, Michelle and William Little III of Independence, KS, Michelle Craig of Augusta, KS, sons, Robert and wife Stacy Craig of Wichita, KS, Steven Craig of Lawrence, KS, sisters, Loretta and the late Roger Parsons of Benedict, KS, Freda and husband Ben Foraker of Independence, KS, grandchildren, John Easley III, Lauren Easley, Alston Little, Danica Craig, McKenizie Craig, and Daxton Craig, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 22nd with the family greeting friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Potts Chapel in Independence. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, July 23rd at the First Baptist Church in Independence with burial following at Mt. Hope Cemetery. A memorial contribution in Karla's name can be made to St. Judes, and may be left with Potts Chapel in Independence, KS.
