JUNE BROWN NEWS MEDIA NOTIFICATION June Brown, age 69, of rural Independence, Kansas died Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at the Via Christi St. Francis in Wichita, Kansas. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 22, 2010 at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas. Burial will follow in the Jefferson Cemetery under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas. Visitation hours will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 21, 2010 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas. The family has suggested memorials to the Caney Valley Antique Power Association and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas. June was born May 24, 1940 in Blue Jacket, Oklahoma to Fred and Edna Weddle Fair. On October 28, 1956 June married Terry V. Brown and they made their home in rural Independence, Kansas. June loved life laughed a lot, chattered like a blue jay, loved the outdoors, loved sewing, loved animals, loved to talk to people, in auction business her and husband owned she was goodwill ambassador, our regular sale goers loved her. She was charter member and devoted worker for the Caney Valley Antique Power Association and office holder. She was a member of the Dearing Christian Church. Survivors include her husband Terry of the home one daughter Tammie and husband Jim Vannoster of rural Independence, Kansas son Dale and wife Julie Brown of Wellington, Kansas son Jimmie and wife Karen Brown of Caney, Kansas two brothers Richard and Adrian Fair of Wichita, Kansas one sister Lorena Harvey 15 grandchildren and 6 Great Grandchildren bunches of nieces and nephews and friends.
