Judy Valentin

Judy Ann Valentin (Simmons), 68, of Lenapah, Oklahoma, passed away at her home on Sunday, November 17, 2019.

Judy was born on January 6, 1951 in Independence, Kansas to John W. and Elnora B. (Thompson) Simmons. She graduated from Independence High School in 1969. Judy then married Angel Valentin in Independence on October 5, 1970. Through this union they welcomed 2 children, Leslie and Christy. Judy was employed at ACC for 16 years, Emerson Electric for 6 years and Amazon for 5 years. Judy loved to play bingo, play the slots at the casinos, tend to her garden, fish and cook for her family. Most of all she loved the time she spent with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Elnora Simmons, and brothers, Calvin, Floyd, Leslie, and Johnnie Simmons.

Judy’s memory will carry on with her husband, Angel Valentin, son, Leslie and wife Christina Valentin, daughter Christy Powers, sister, Priscilla DeWitt, grandchildren, Robert Wade, Reece Valentin, and John Boss, great grandchildren, Riley Wade, Alexander Wade, Julia Wade, and Demetrius Price, and numerous nieces, and nephews. Visitation will be held at Potts Chapel in Independence on Thursday, November 21st with the family greeting friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Funeral service will take place at Potts Chapel on Friday, November 22nd at 1:00 PM. Memorials can be made in Judy’s name to the National Kidney Foundation and memorials can be left with Potts Chapel.
