Juanita Vivian (McBride) Romans, born August 13, 1932, passed away peacefully, October 12, 2022, in her home after a brief illness.
She is survived by her sons, Randall (Beth Chaney) and Robb Romans (Rachel), companion, Glenn Hildabrand, sisters, Connie Pender, Peggy McBride, and Faye Holley. Grandchildren, Rylan, Nick and Ava Romans, great grandchildren, Reece and Ryla Romans. Nita is preceded in death by her husband, Ray, infant son, Reginald, and parents Roy and Beulah McBride.
Nita graduated from Southwest Baptist Teachers College at 19. She was an accomplished bookkeeper and bridge player. After moving to Independence, Ray and Nita opened a used car lot on North Penn prior to establishing Romans Chevrolet in 1967. Their other passion was raising cattle on their ranch east of Independence.
A Celebration of Nita’s Life will be held at Potts Chapel, 122 S. Penn Ave., Independence, KS 67301 on Friday, October 21st at 2:00 pm with burial immediately following at Mount Hope Cemetery.
