Johnny M. Medsker, 75, of Independence, Kansas passed away on April 5th, 2021 at his home. Cremation has taken place with Potts Chapel. A service will be held at a later date.
John was born on May 9th, 1945 in Independence, Kansas. He was the son of John E. and Helen Medsker. He graduated from Independence High School in 1963. In 1974, he married Peggy Watson of Wellington, Kansas. They celebrated 47 years of marriage. Together they had five children.
John was a man of many talents. He loved to play music with his country band. He was an avid outdoors man who loved to fish, hunt and camp. He took first place in the state and national archery competitions for several years in a row. He also raced micro midgets.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Helen.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Peggy, five children: Patti (Terry) Medsker Croney of Wichita, KS., Johnny ( Karin) Medsker of Topeka, KS., Sheri (Chet) Medsker Rodgers of K.C, MO., Tonya Cink Littau of Independence, KS., and Tammy Cink of Missouri, four siblings: Linda (Norman) Medsker Blummer of Independence, KS., Kathy (Rudy) Medsker Lentz of Sycamore, KS., Steve (Vicki) Medsker of Independence, KS. and Becky (Wayne) Medsker Bright of Independence, KS., 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
