John Stafford Jr.

John L. Stafford Jr., 52, of Independence died Monday July 16, 2012 at the Bradford Place Independence, Ks. Memorial Services will be held Tuesday at 1:00 pm July 24, 2012 at the First United Methdoist Church Independence with the Reverend Dee Williamston officiating. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been set up for the Stafford Children College Fund and may be left at the First United Methodist Church Independence. John was born November 18, 1959 in Manhattan, Kansas the son of John L. Sr.and Dorcas Peterson Stafford. He grew up in Independence and Graduated from the Independence School Systems he also attended Kansas State University where he earned his Bachelors Degree in Engineering. In 1990 John was united in marriage to Mary Ellen Jewett and the couple made their home in Independence Mary Ellen survives at the home. John worked as an Engineer at Cessna Air Craft in Independence for 15 years. John was an avid fan of all sports with a special passion for running. Survivors include his wife Mary Ellen, his parents John and Dorcas Stafford of Independence, Ks., four sons John Lloyd Stafford, Jackson Stafford, Jeb Stafford, Jude Stafford all of Independence three daughters Julia Stafford, Jordan Stafford, Jillian Stafford, also of Independence. One brother James Stafford of Virginia, two sisters Susan Kenworthy of Independence, Sara Housel of Little Elm, Tx.
