John Nusz

John J. Nusz, 91, of Caney passed away Monday, August 27, 2012 at his home in Caney. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 31, 2012 at the Tyro Christian Church, Tyro, Kansas with Evangelist David Bycroft officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunnyside Cemetery, in Caney , Kansas under the direction of the Potts Chapel Caney. Visitation hours will be held from 10:00 a. m. till Noon, Friday, August 31, 2012 at the Tyro Christian Church with the family receiving friends from 11:00 a. m. till Noon. The family has suggested memorials to the Harry Hynes Hospice, Coffeyville, Kansas and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Caney. John was born November 4, 1920 in Orienta, Oklahoma, the son of John and Sara Penner Nusz. He grew up in Orienta and attended the Orienta School System. In June 1947 John was united in marriage to Phyllis Henthorn and the couple made their home in Summner, Oklahoma. In February, 2005 Phyllis preceded John in death. John worked as a selfemployed Custom Harvester, farmer and rancher. John was a member of the Tyro Christian Church. He lived 14 years in Caney, coming from Longton, Kansas. Survivors include two sons, Jim Nusz of Caney Ks. and Larry Nusz of Severy, Ks. three daughters, Cheryl Johnson of Caney, Ks., Renita Seimears of Independence, Ks. and Rhonda Geissinger of Gilborts Ville, Penn. two brothers, Pete Nusz of Rosehill, Ks. and Adam Nusz of Wellington, Ks. five sisters, Olivia Milligan of Enid, Okla., Kate Dyck of Corn, Okla., Sarah Koop of Howard, Ks., Hannah James of Pond Creek, Okla. and Ruth Blackwell of Tulsa, Okla. 12 Grandchildren, 21 GreatGrandchildren and 3 GreatGreat Grandchildren.
