John Leon Marden, 64, of Conowingo, MD., passed away on Monday, March 30, 2015 at his home.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a. m. Thursday, April 9, 2015 at the Potts Chapel with the Reverend Melanie Adams officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Independence.
The family has suggested memorials to the Independence VFW Post 1186 and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas.
John was born July 27, 1950 in Independence, Kansas the son of Betty Louise Elliott Marden of Independence and the late Charles Leon Marden.
John was a Veteran of the U. S. Navy and a Nuclear Engineer also owner operator of the JLM Company of Missouri.
He loved golfing, fishing and the Kansas City Chiefs
Survivors include two sons, John Leon Marden II and wife Michelle of Conowingo, MD, and Charles Leon Marden of Port Deposit, MD, six grandchildren, two sisters Linda Marden of Millington, TN. and Beverly Goode of Navarce, FL.
John was preceded in death by his grandson, Johnathan Xavier Marden and brother Michael Marden.
