John Haughn

John L. Haughn, age 63, of Caney, Kansas died Sunday, September 11, 2011 at the Caney Nursing Center in Caney, Kansas. Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, September 17, 2011 at the Fairview Cemetery in Niotaze, Kansas with the Evangelist David Bycroft officiating under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. Visitation hours will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Thursday, September 15, 2011 and Friday, September 16, 2011 from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. The family has suggested memorials to the Caney Nursing Center and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. John was born October 24, 1947 in Sedan, Kansas to Arthur and Mary Josephine Ashford Haughn. John was raised in the Niotaze, Caney area and attended schools in Niotaze and Caney School Systems. On January 27, 1972 John married Dalemarie in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. The couple made their home in Caney, Kansas. John worked as a mechanic in the area and then at Emerson Electric and most recently for Spears. John was a member of ABATE and the American Legion Riders Post 138. Survivors include his wife Dalemarie of the home one son Andrew John Haughn and Harley Dean of Caney, Kansas three daughters Shanna Marie and Wayne Fletcher of Pleasanton, Kansas, Kristy Lee Haughn and Jeremy Hurlburt of Meshoppen, Pennsylvania and Amber Camille Haughn and George Scimeca of Independence, Kansas Brother Roger Haughn of Caney, Kansas two sisters Shirley Goodrich of Fredonia, Kansas and Juanita Hoard of Texas nine grandchildren. John was preceded in death by one sister.
