Joann Lindsay

JoAnn Lindsay, age 71, died Sunday, January 11, 2009, at East Hampton Estates in Wichita, Kansas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, January 15, 2009, at Potts Chapel of Independence, with Pastor Steve Lindsay officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Independence, Kansas. Friends may sign the register book from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Wednesday, January 14, 2009, at Potts Chapel. The family has suggested memorials to Westside Freewill Baptist Church and they may be left with the funeral home. JoAnn was born on August 6, 1937, in Independence, Kansas, to Homer and Ruby Willis Graves. On December 26, 1952, she married Samuel C. Lindsay, and he preceded her in death. She worked as an inspector for Beech Aircraft for 30 years before her retirement. She was a member of the Westside Freewill Baptist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Cindy Green, Wichita, KS; one brother, Houston Graves, Sheldon, MO; three sisters, Marlene Murphy and Darlene Cummings, both of Sheldon, MO, and Margie Yarbough, Arkansas.
