Joan Carolyn Webster, age 63 of Independence, Kansas died Saturday, April 17, 2010 at her home in Independence, Kansas. Cremation has taken place. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 23, 2010 at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas. Inurnment will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas. Friends may sign the register book from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Thursday, April 22, 2010 at the Potts Chapel in independence, Kansas. Joan was born May 23, 1946 in Jumpsville, Virginia to Oscar Lee and Georgia Mae McCauley Sargent. She grew up in Jumpsville, Virginia and attended schools there. Joan graduated Business College in Chicago, Illinois. She worked for Stewart Warner in Chicago, Illinois until moving to Independence, Kansas in 1977. Joan was married to James Marshall and Richard Lewis Asher Jr. She attended many activities at Penn Manor. Survivors include one son Richard Asher of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma two daughters Elysia Savage of Monett, Missouri and Toni Lee Asher of Independence, Kansas two brothers Lowell Sargent and Tony Sargent both of Independence, Kansas.
