Jimmy Dean Padley

June 17, 1951 — November 17, 2024

Emblem

On the morning of Sunday November 17th, 2024 Jimmy Dean Padley (73) went to be with the love of his life. He passed away with loved ones at his side at Labette Hospital.

Jim was born June 17th, 1951 in Independence, Kansas to his mother Mary Elizabeth Padley and father Carl LeRoy Padley. At the age of 18, Jim married his late wife, Myrna, who he was married to for 54 years. Shortly after getting married, he went on to join the United States Army and graduated Basic Training from Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. His unit was then deployed to Vietnam where he would spend a majority of his 2 years and 8 months of service. After returning and being honorably discharged, Jim and Myrna went on to have 2 beautiful daughters, Shelly and Bobbie Jo.

He was a hard working employee at Hackney in Independence for 41 years until his retirement in 2017. If you were looking for Jim you could find him fixing a car or on the golf course. But he was really known for his big heart and infectious smile. His light will be missed so dearly by his family and friends but we take comfort in knowing he is now with the Lord and his wife.

Jim and Myrna leave behind their daughters Shelly Ryan and Bobbie Davis, 9 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.

A viewing service will be held Friday November 22nd 5:30-7:30pm at Potts Chapel in Independence, KS.
