Jerry Beavers

Jerry D. Beavers, age 81, of Mesa, Arizona died Saturday, June 13, 2009 at his home Mesa, Arizona. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., saturday, june 20, 2009 at the church of christ with reverends tom barton and bill conkling officiating. burial will follow in the sunnyside cemetery. the family suggested memorials to the hope harbor. Jerry was born June 12, 1928 in Arlie, Texas to Jerry D. Sr. and Jessie Covey Beavers. He grew up in Childres County, Texas unitl he was 10 when the family moved to New Deal, TX until moving to Levelland, TX. Jerry graduated from the Whitharrel, TX high school in 1945. On October 11, 1950 Jerry entered the United States Army and served in Germany for 18 months before being honorable discharged on October 2, 1952. On January 5, 1953 Jerry married Vivian Sue Justice in Hereford, Texas. The couple made their home in Guyman, Oklahoma, Ocheleta and Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Jerry worked at Swift and Company meat packing plant for 19 years and also for Gibons Slitz for 10 years retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Ramona, Oklahoma. Survivors include his wife Vivian Sue Beavers of Mesa, AZ; two sons Joe and wife Ondie of Winslow, Arkansas and Larry Beavers of Eufaula, Oklahoma; three daughters Susan and husband Larry Crowe of Caney, Kansas, Marilyn and husband Steve McGuire of Mesa, Arizona and Jill Lively of Tulsa, Oklahoma; one sister Joyce Sikes of Levelland, TX; 13 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
