Jean M. Root, 79, of Independence, Kansas passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 12th, 2020. A graveside service will be held Monday, November 16th, 2020 at 10am at the Mount Hope Cemetery. Harry Hynes Chaplain, Randy Beeman will officiate. Arrangements are entrusted to Potts Chapel.
Jean was born in Garfield, Arkansas to Clarence and Annalee Weimer on April 2nd, 1941. She was raided and went to school in Independence, Kansas. She married the love of her life, Ronnie G. Root on September 11th, 1960. Jean and Ronnie had three children: Debbie, Mark and Tammy. She worked for Calvert’s Junior Department and Dana/ACC for close to 20 years before retiring on 2006.
Jean is preceded in death by her husband Ronnie G. Root, parents Clarence and Annalee Weimer, sister Vera Wall and brother Wesley Weimer.
Jean will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Debbie Douglas and Paul of Chanute, KS., son Mark Root and Angela of Independence, KS., daughter Tammy Watson and Brian of Plano, TX., 5 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, brother Larry Weimer and Shirley of Independence, KS., and brother-in-law Randy Root and Cathy of Independence, KS.
The Root family would like to send a sincere thank you to the nurses and staff of Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice. Jean will be truly missed by all who knew her!
