Janice Vineyard, 67, of Independence, Kansas passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2016 in Coffeyville, Kansas. Per her wishes, cremation has taken place with Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held, Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Nazarene Church on South 10th Street in Independence, Kansas. Memorials are suggested to Potts Chapel. Friends may leave online condolences at www.pottsfuneralhome.com.
Janice was born March 20, 1949 in Independence, Kansas to Dave and Nadine (Austin) Osborn. She grew up in Independence and graduated from Independence High School.
In June of 1972, Janice was united in marriage to Steve Vineyard. They made their home in Independence, Kansas. They later divorced but remained close and dear friends. To this union, two daughters were born; Christina Michelle Yancey and Gayle Vineyard.
Janice had worked for Quality Motors, Yerkes and Micheles, The Independence Reporter and most recently for KGGF Radio in Coffeyville, Kansas.
Janice was passionate about her two daughters and her grandson, Rafey. She loved flowers, gardening and shopping. She had a passion for volunteering especially for Relay for Life and spending time with friends and family. Janice could always light up the room and did not know a stranger.
She is survived by her two daughters; Michelle Yancey and Gayle Vineyard, her grandson Rafey Youniacutt, her close friend Steve Vineyard, brother Steve and wife Buffy Osborn of Clearwater, KS, sisters; Dianne and husband Guy Holt of Cherryvale, KS, Cheryl and husband Marshall Moore of Coffeyville, KS, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dave and Nadine Osborn.
