Janice "Colette" Troutman age 65 of rural Independence passed away at her home with all of her family by her side on July 26, 2019.
Colette was born on February 19, 1954 in Independence to Robert and Edna (Kingsbury) Troutman. She attended local grammar schools and Independence High School. During high school, she met Douglas Vineyard and the couple was united in marriage. To this union they were blessed with two daughters and two sons. They were later divorced. Colette loved being a mother, she was a wonderful caregiver to her family and made each of her children feel as they were the most special person in her world. In addition to caring for her family she found employment where she cared for others as a Certified Nurses Aide, ACC, DCCCA family support worker and as a Team Leader and later Job Coach for Class LTD. She was a member of Dearing Christian Church and cherished the fact that she was baptized by her son Jared. Colette enjoyed flowers, she loved working in her flower beds, she enjoyed reading, fishing, pottery and ceramics, having her nails done, and raising her cattle on the farm. Colette will always be remembered for her fun-loving personality; her smile was infectious. The ones that knew her most will never forget her many facial expressions, and her stern finger shaking when they needed to know she was serious. Among all that life offered her she dearly loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren the most.
Colette's memories will live on with her children, Kim High her husband Dennis, Jared Vineyard his wife Jami and Clayton Vineyard his fiancé Belinda Mata, brothers Bobby Troutman and Ervin Troutman, his wife Faye, grandchildren; Chanel Atkinson her husband Gradey, Kylie Graham her husband Corey, Katelyn Vineyard, Tyler Vineyard, Zachary Vineyard, and Dalton Vineyard, great-grandchildren; Claire Graham, Kailyn Graham, and David Atkinson.
She now rests with her parents, her daughter Shirley Vineyard, and brother Marvin Troutman.
