Janice Dorine Hook, age 68 of Caney, Kansas died Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at the Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Cremation has taken place. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at the Potts Chapel Caney, Kansas with the Reverend Steve Butler officiating under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. Visitation hours will be held from 9:00 a.m. to Noon on Wednesday, December 28, 2011 with the family receiving friends from 11:00 a.m. to Noon at the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. A memorial has been set up in Memory of Janice Dorine Hook and may be left at the Potts Chapel Caney. Janice Dorine Hook was born March7, 1943 in Fredonia, Kansas to LeRoy and Marie Seller Mellen. She grew up in Havana, Kansas and attended school in the Havana School System. On November 4, 1961 Janice married Charles Hook in Caney, Kansas the couple made their home in Caney, Kansas. Janice worked in assembly at Standard Motors in Independence, Kansas from which she retired. Survivors include one husband Charles of the home one son Brian Hook of Caney, Kansas 3 brothers Howard Mellen of Elk City, Kansas, Randy Mellen of Caney, Kansas and Curtis Mellen of Edna, Kansas 4 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
