Janice Katherine Henry, 61, of Fredonia, KS passed away Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Fredonia Regional Hospital, Fredonia, KS.
Janice was born April 18, 1956, the ninth child of Hoyt and Helen Henry of Independence, KS. She attended Parsons State Training Center for ten years. She worked at Class Limited, and New Beginnings for many years, doing various jobs. Some of her favorite times were spent working in the child care department. She loved her family and always paid special attention to the babies and young children. She was a happy, outgoing person and always remembered and shared special family events and memories with her acquaintances. She loved to play Dominoes and was proficient with her skills to win.
Janice lived in her own apartment for about 20 years and loved her TV time, movies, and music. She enjoyed daily walking and visiting people she knew. The past year, she has made her home at Vintage Park Assisted Living in Fredonia, KS. Her sisters Phyllis, Alice and Karol gave her special care.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hoyt and Helen Henry, and three brothers in law; Dick Sharples (Mary Sue), Jerry Chrisenbery (Doris), and Steve May (Karol).
Janice is survived by three brothers: David, Rodger, and George Henry, and six sisters, Mary Sue Sharples, Doris Chrisenbery, Phyllis Darbro, Alice Douglas, Karol May, and Joy Campbell, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A visitation will be held at 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm on Monday, May 8, 2017, at Potts Chapel, 122 S. Penn, Independence, KS. Burial will be at Cave Springs Cemetery, Sarcoxie, MO. on Sunday, June 25, 2017, at 10:30 AM. Memorials are suggested to the Janice Henry Memorial and can be left at the funeral home.
