Janice Hammond

Janice Mel Hammond of Cherryvale, Ks died Tuesday, morning June 5, 2012 at the Eureka Hospital. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Cherryvale. Memorial Services will be held Saturday June 9, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the New Life Praise and Worship in Cherryvale, Ks with pastor David Cavaness officiating. Janice was born February 2, 1944 in Dinuba, California to Art and Hazel Douthitt Hammond. She attended school in Baxter Springs, Ks. On February 3, 1958 at Pocatello, Idaho she was united in marriage to Roy Hammond and they later divorced. In 1991 Janice married Dale Webber and he preceded her in death in August 2011. Janice worked for Lees in Cherryvale. Survivors include son David Hammond and wife Cindy Cherryvale, Ks daughter Christy Jones and husband Lynn Independence, Ks stepson Dallas Webber and wife Racheal Cherryvale, Ks Six grandchildren Jeremiah Hammond and wife Lyndsey, Zach Hammond, Amanda Braymen and husband Chris, Amber Hart and husband Nick, Ashley Essary and Zack Blake Mother Hazel Taylor Lenapah, Ok, sister June Thomas Lenapah, Ok, brothers Charles Tiger Hammonds, Coffeyville, Ks and Billy Hammonds, Lenapah, Ok. She was preceded in death by her father Art Hammonds, sister Geri Rupert, and daughter and soninlaw Cindy and Jeff Blake.
