Jane Brown Nellsch 98, passed away peacefully November 22, 2018 at Montgomery Place in Independence, Kansas.
Jane was born February 25, 1920 in rural Montgomery County, Kansas near Wayside, the daughter of William Lee and Mabel Alice (Brownlee) Brown. She was a 1941 graduate of Coffeyville Community College and a Certified Professional Secretary. She was employed by Phillips Petroleum until becoming disabled in 1980. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Havana, Kansas and the Esther Lowery Chapter of the DAR. She married Verner Nellsch on December 25, 1945.
She is preceded in death by her husband Verner Nellsch, and parents, William Lee and Mabel Alice (Brownlee) Brown.
Survivors include her children, Virginia F. (Jimmy) Huffman of Havana, KS, Vivian L. (Harold) Montgomery of Wichita, KS, Verner O. (Denise) Nellsch of Livingston, TX, sister, Wilda Bisset of St. Petersburg, FL, grandchildren, Roxane (Steve) Walker, Julie (Dan) Driskel, Michael Montgomery, Erica Montgomery, Katy (Bryan) Egle, Jenny (Jeff) Wondoloski, Kurt Nellsch, Matt Nellsch, and Elise (Julio) Novo, great grandchildren, Karsten, Caleb, and Alanna Walker, Ally and Claire Driskel, Jacob, and Anabelle Williams, William Egle, and Mirabel and Adelia Wondoloski.
Funeral services will be held at Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas on Saturday, December 1st at 2:00 PM, with a private family interment at Havana Cemetery following. Online condolences may be left at www.pottsfuneralhome.com.
