James Jumbo Sydney Roberds, age 51, of Caney, Kansas died Saturday, June 30, 2012 at his home in Caney, Kansas. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 7, 2012 at the Tyro Christian Church with the Evangelist David Bycroft officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunnyside Cemetery under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. Visitation hours will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, July 6, 2012 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. James Jumbo Sydney Roberds was born December 18, 1960 in Caney, Kansas to Wesley L. and Opal F. Smith Roberds. Jumbo grew up in Caney, Kansas and attended the Caney School System. Jumbo worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Montgomery County Public Works for 21 years. Jumbo also owned and operated Jumbos Equipment Painting and was a member of the Sons of American Legion. Survivors include two sons A.J. Roberds and wife Sherrie of Talihina, Oklahoma, Derek Roberds and wife Tiffani of Caney, Kansas, four grandchildren Jarret, Tawny, James and Drake Significant other Donna Shouse of Caney, Kansas one brother Edgar Coots of Caney, Kansas, two sisters Carolyn Hawthorne and Stella Rosewicz both of Caney, Kansas.
