James William Marion was born May 22, 1930, in Caney, Kansas to Sam and Edith Andrews Marion. Jim grew up in Caney and graduated from Caney High School. Jim entered the U.S. Navy in 1951, serving in Korea as a Boatswains Mate 3rd Class aboard USS Sandoval APA 194 , and was honorably discharged in 1955. In August 1955 Jim married Kaye Maxwell in Caney, and the couple made their home in Caney. Kaye preceded him in death May 20, 1997. Jim was a commercial artist for Phillips Petroleum retiring after 42 years. James Jim William Marion, age 82, of Caney, Kansas died Wednesday, October 10, 2012, at his home in Caney. Survivors include one son, James Marion Jr of Dewey, Oklahoma three daughters: Debbie Inman of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Teresa Jones of Sedan, Kansas, and Tommi Kilgore of Wichita Falls, Texas eleven grandchildren, Robyn, Casey, Andrew, Adam, Dustin, Valarie, Chansi, Samantha, Derek, Ashton, and Thomas and four great grandchildren, Cale, Dillon, Gabriella, and Addison. Celebration of Life Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, October 12, 2012, at the Sunnyside Cemetery, Caney, under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Caney. The family has suggested memorials to the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Caney.
