James Cable Holmes, age 42, of Independence, Kansas died Friday, December 19, 2014 at the Mercy Hospital in Independence, Kansas.
Cremation has taken place. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 29, 2014 at the Potts Chapel in Reverend Charles Barker Jr. and Grady Miller officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Harrisonville Cemetery.
Visitation hours will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, December 28, 2014 with the family receiving friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas.
The family has suggested memorials to the Holmes Childrens Fund and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel.
James Cable Holmes was born May 11, 1972 at Langley Air Force Base in Virginia to William Bill and Sharon Guth Holmes. James grew up in Arizona and graduated from the Independence High School in 1990. James also graduated from Coffeyville VoTech with a drafting Degree. James worked at the Independence Daily Reporter, Coffeyville Refinery for seven years and U.S. Pipe.
On November 30, 2005 James married Spring Teehee in Independence, Kansas where they made their home. James loved guns, cars, the Dallas Cowboys and sports memorabilia.
Survivors include his wife Spring of the home father Bill Holmes and step mother Nancy of Independence, Kansas son Carson Holmes of Independence, two step children Codi Espinoza and Will Satchel both of Independence, Kansas three brothers Scott Holmes, David Holmes and Tanner Holmes all of Independence one sister Amanda Webster of Nowata, Oklahoma step brother Robert Richardson of Osawatomie, Kansas and step sister Tonia Taylor of Middlebrook, Virginia grandson Myles Espinoza.
