Jacqueline Prater

Jacqueline Irene Prater, 79, passed away October 28, 2009 at Mercy Hospital, Independence,Ks. She was born July 4, 1930 at Jacksonville, Ks., the daughter of Warren and Mabel Buzzard Spurgeon. Jackie was united in marriage to Billy Robert Prater on May 24, 1947 in Parsons, Kansas. He preceded her in death. She had worked at several places as a home health aid and was a member of the Nazarene Church of Cherryvale. Jackie is survived by sons; Carl Prater, Independence, Ks. Ralph Prater, Cherryvale, Ks. : daughters, Marilyn and husband Marvin Hestand, Cherryvale, Ks. Linda Johnson, Baxter Springs, Ks.,, and Debby Wilson, Cherryvale, Ks. one brother, Dr. Milo Spurgeon and wife Norma of Columbia, Missouri and 8 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 2, 2009 at 2:00 P.M. at the Cherryvale Potts Chapel. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, Cherryvale, Ks. Visitation will be Sunday, November 1, 2009 , 1 P.M., to 5P.M.at Potts Chapel, Cherryvale. The family will be present 2 P.M. to 4 P.M. Memorials may be given to Cherryvale E.M.S. and may be left at the funeral home. Potts Chapel of Cherryvale is in charge of arrangements.
