Jackie Farmer

Jackie Q. Farmer, 86, of Cherryvale passed away at 12:12 A.M. , Saturday, November 6, 2010 at the Cherryvale Nursing and Rehabiltation Center. Funeral services will be held 10:30 A.M. Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at Potts Chapel of Cherryvale. Friends may register from 12 Noon until 8 P.M. Monday, November 8, 2010 with family receiving friends from 67 P.M. at Potts Chapel of Cherryvale. Cremation will follow and private family inurnment will follow at a later date. Jackie Q. Farmer was born May 16, 1924 in Coffeyville, Kansas the daughter of John Quincy Farmer and Clemmia Dye Farmer. She attended school in the Coffeyville area and after her schooling she served two years in WAVES from 19411943 in the United States Navy. She lived in the Cherryvale community for over 60 years and worked for Fram in her earlier years. She was a member of the New Hope Christian Church and enjoyed playing softball and umpiring for several years. She is survived by a brother, Gene Bryant of Emporia, KS, long time friend and companion, Betty Jean Stacy, of Cherryvale, KS, special niece, Linsey Thompson Ackerman and a special nephew, Jonathon Thompson.
