Ida White

(Ida) Mary White, 81, of Independence, Kansas passed away Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Coffeyville Regional Hospital, in Coffeyville, Kansas. A Celebration of Life Service will be Thursday, June 4th at 10:00 a.m. at Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas, with Danny Maass officiating.
Mary was born September 1, 1933 north of Peru, Kansas, the daughter of LJ and Vera (McDaris) Williams. She attended school and graduated from Peru High School in 1951. She worked for Sinclair Crude Oil Company for 10 years then leaving to raise her family. She returned to work later for Dr. P.E. Barbera until his retirement. On December 24, 1953 she was united in marriage to Donald D. White in Independence, Kansas where they made their home and raised registered Quarter Horses.
She is survived by her husband, Donald, of the home, two children; Debi and husband Jay Bruening of Independence, KS. and Rick and wife Kelli White of Ramona, OK., along with three grandchildren and one great-grandchild, one sister Martha Denick of Waynesboro, VA. She is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and two sisters.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association and can be left at Potts chapel of Independence, Kansas.
