Helen L. Reynolds, 90, of Independence passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at the Medicalodge of Independence.
A Graveside Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a. m., Saturday, August 29, 2015 at the Mt. Hope Cemetery with the Reverend Roland Vega officiating.
Burial will follow the service under the direction of the Potts Chapel of Independence.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a. m. to 7:00 p. m. Friday, August 28, 2015 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p. m. to 7:00 p. m. at the Potts Chapel of Independence.
The family has suggested in lieu of flowers memorials to the American Cancer Association and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Independence.
Helen was born March 19, 1925 in Independence, Kansas, the daughter of Henry and Anna (Oltoff) Harms. She grew up in Independence and attended and graduated from the Independence School System.
On March 17, 1942 in Independence, Helen was united in marriage to Clifford Reynolds and the couple made their home in Independence after his retirement from the United States Navy. Clifford preceded her in death in 2001.
Helen worked at the Echin of Independence on the assembly line.
She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church.
Survivors include two sons James Reynolds and wife Linda of Seabring, FL. and Don Reynolds and wife Becky of Independence, KS., one daughter-in-law Judy Reynolds of Independence, KS., one niece Blindena Mansfield of Independence, KS., five grandchildren; Dale Reynolds of Independence, Ks., Tessa (Reynolds) Orr of MO., Taren Reynolds of MO., Paula (Reynolds) Schabel of Independence, KS. and Heather (Reynolds) Kinnaman, of TX., two step-grandchildren Kerry Abrahamsen of FL. and Norman Keith of FL., ten great-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren and one step great-great-grandchild.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Cliff Reynolds and one son David Reynolds.
