CELEBRATION OF LIFE SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 11:00 AM , WEDNESDAY, JULY 7, 2010 AT THE BIBLE HOLINESS CHURCH, 13TH. COTTONWOOD, INDEPENDENCE, KANSAS WITH THE REVEREND DUANE JOHNSON, REVEREND DeSILVA SMITH AND REVEREND JOE DAVOLT OFFICIATING. INTERMENT WILL BE AT THE MOUNT HOPE CEMETERY UNDER THE DIRECTION OF POTTS CHAPEL OF INDEPENDENCE. VIEWING WILL BE AT THE BIBLE HOLINESS CHURCH FROM 9:30 AM. UNTIL SERVICE TIME WEDNESDAY, JULY 7, 2010. A MEMORIAL WITH THE FORGIEN MISSION DEPARTMENT OF THE BIBLE HOLINESS CHURCH WILL WILL BE RECEIVED AT THE POTTS CHAPEL OR AT THE BIBLE HOLINESS CHURCH. HELEN CORA MABEL LUELF WAS BORN OCTOBER 27, 1918 , IN TRUXTON, MO. THE DAUGHTER OF HERMAN AND ALMA WINTER LUELF. HELEN ATTENDED THE TRUXTON, MO. SCHOOL SYSTEMS THROUGH THE 8TH. GRADE SHE THEN WORKED AT THE TROY GARMENT FACTORY, HELPING TO SUPPORT THE FAMILY. AT THE AGE OF 20 HELEN WENT TO THE GODS BIBLE SCHOOL IN CINCINNATI, OHIO IN HER 5 YEARS AT GBS SHE GRADUATED VALEDICTORIAN. IN 1945 HELEN RECEIVED HER CALL TO FOREIGN MISSIONS. IN 1946 HELEN AND ZOLA MAE RICH BEGAN THEIR MISISTRY IN BARBADOS AND IN 1952 OPENED A NEW WORK IN GRENADA THE MOUNTAINOUS ISLAND WAS THERE HOME UNTILL 1988. IN 1955 HELEN SURVIVED HURRICANE JANET .IN 1983 HELEN WITNESSED COMMUNIST GOVERNMENT TAKEOVER AND US RESCUE MISSION. HELENS TIME IN GRENADA SHE HELPED ESTABLISH A DOZEN CHURCHES PLUS OTHER CHURCH MISSIONS. HELEN RETIRED FROM THE MISSION FIELD AND THEN PASTORED IN SAN BERNARDINO, CALIF. FOR 12 YEARS. SHE RETURNED TO INDEPENDENCE IN 2003. THEN IN 2008 MOVED TO IOLA, KANSAS. SURVIVORS ARE TWO SISTERS , ESTHER AND HUSBAND JOHN ESTERLINE OF CINCINNATI, OH, AND FAITH KENDRICK OF ALBUQUERQUE, NM. NIECES, NEPHEWS, AND MANY AMERICAN AND GRENADIAN FRIENDS.
