Helen Marie Bryant, age 86, of Independence, Kansas died Friday, January 15, 2016 at the Golden Living in Neodesha, Kansas.

Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 20, 2015 at the Potts Chapel with the Pastor Boyd Hamlin officiating. Burial will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery under the direction of the Potts Chapel.

Visitation hours will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 19, 2015 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Potts Chapel.

The family has suggested memorials to the Shriner's Children's Hospital or Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel

Helen Marie Bryant was born September 8, 1929 in Neodesha, Kansas to Robert and Edna Bone. She grew up in Neodesha, Kansas and attended schools in Neodesha.

On April 5, 1947 Helen married Donald Bryant in Neodesha, Kansas. Donald preceded her in death on May 12, 1986. Helen worked as Kitchen Manager for USD 446 until her retirement in 1994. She was a member of the Community Christian Church and loved red birds and hummingbirds.

Survivors include one son Donald L. Bryant of Independence, Kansas; three daughters Beverly Hamlin of Coffeyville, Kansas, Debbie Harlin of Independence, Kansas and Nancy Bryant-Smith of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Eight grandchildren Boyd Hamlin, Darin Hamlin, Derek Bryant, Shawna Jones, Beth Wineland, Michael Smith, Michelle Smith and Chet Harlin and 21 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald, parents, two sisters Betty Davis and Hester Hogan, one brother Joe Seunier and one great grandchild Mary Beth Read.
