Helen I. Mishler, age 94 of Independence, passed away March 19, 2023.
Helen was born September 17, 1928 in Fredonia, Kansas to Leland and Harriet Kingsbury.
She attended Merino School in Fredonia through the 8th grade. She later attended Independence Community College from 1960-1963.
She worked for the Ike Graves reality from 1963-1964 before being employment with City Publishing of Independence for 15 years from 1964-1979.
On December 21, 1945 she married John L. Mishler and the two made their home in Independence, until June 1, 1987. John preceded her in death on August 15, 1988.
Helen is preceded in death by her parents, husband John, sisters Edna Troutman, Mary Conley and Ruby Fiscus. Three brothers Leland Kingsbury, Elmer Kingsbury, John Kingsbury,
Those left to carry on her memory is her son Johnny Mishler, daughters Cheryl Tryon and Jan Thompson, sister Edith Mitchell two half-sisters Linda Dodson and Carolyn Fowler, one stepbrother Lawrence Wade, 8 grandchildren, 2 step grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 23, 2023 at 2pm at Potts Chapel in Independence. Burial will follow at Mt Hope Cemetery.
