Hazel Bernice Snodgrass, age 88, of Caney, Kansas died Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at the Evergreen Care Center in Owasso, Oklahoma. Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 3, 2011 at the Caney Orthodox Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Tim Black officiating. Burial will follow in the Sunnyside Cemetery under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. Visitation hours will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2011 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. The family has suggested memorials to the Caney Orthodox Presbyterian Church and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. Hazel Bernice Snodgrass was born May 3, 1923 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Alvin L. and Mary Bernice Adams Labadie. She grew up on a ranch in rural Pawhuska, Oklahoma. She attended the Herd Grade School and graduated from the Pawhuska High School in 1942. On November 20, 1942 Hazel married James Snodgrass in Ada, Oklahoma where the couple made their home. James preceded her in death on April 30, 2006. Hazel worked at Loves, Lingles, Dr. Floyd Muck, Vandevers and Tom Hubbard retiring in 1986. She was a member of the Caney Orthodox Presbyterian Church, VFW Ladies Auxillary, the Womens Missionary Society at the Caney Orthodox Presbyterian Church and was also a Sunday School Teacher for many years. Survivors include one son James L. Snodgrass of Owasso, Oklahoma one daughter Linda S. Palmer of Dewey, Oklahoma 20 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren one brother Milton Labadie of Pawhuska, Oklahoma two sisters Annetta Holt of Pawhuska, Oklahoma and Lesta Oliver of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by two brothers.
