Harry Junior Meadows, age 86, of Independence, Kansas died Thursday, June 26, 2014 at the Medicallodge in Independence, Kansas.

Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at the Mount Hope Cemetery with the Pastor Milton Jones of the Community Christian Church officiating under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas.

Visitation hours will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Monday, June 30, 2014 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas.

The family has suggested memorials to the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas.

Harry Junior Meadows was born February 15, 1928 in Caney, Kansas to Benjamin Harrison and Leona Sanders Meadows. He grew up in Tyro, Kansas and attended schools in Tyro.

Harry owned and operated Meadows Family Farm. On April 18, 1960 Harry married Doris A. Meadows in Independence, Kansas. The couple made their home in Independence, Kansas. Harry worked at Starcraft and retired from Jensens where he was a night watchman.

Survivors include two son Dale Harrison Meadows of Independence, Kansas and David Alan Meadows of Cherryvale, Kansas four grandchildren Joshua D. Meadows of Independence, Kansas, Heather M. Meadows Giovinazzo of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Cody Meadows of Cherryvale, Kansas and Alyssa Meadows of Ponca City, Oklahoma Great grandchildren Jessica, Topper and Abraham Meadows, Bailey and Colten Giovinazzo, Kailee, Kayden and David Meadows.
