Harold Leland Taylor, age 82, of Independence, Kansas died Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at the Medicalodge in Independence, Kansas.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of the Potts Chapel. Celebration of Life Services will be held at a later date.

The family has suggested memorials to the Gentiva Hospice or the First Church of the Nazarene and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas.

Harold Leland Taylor was born August 28, 1932 in Independence, Kansas to Leslie and Crystal (Busenberg) Taylor. He grew up in Independence, Kansas and graduated from the Independence High School in 1950.

On January 20, 1952 Harold married Alice Rogers in Independence, Kansas. The couple made their home in Bartlesville, Owasso, and Tulsa, Oklahoma before moving back to Independence in 1979. Harold sheered sheep, built houses with brother-in-law, worked for SEKTAM for over 10 years before retiring from Quality Pattern in Cherryvale, Kansas. He was on the Water Board for Rural District #6 and was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Independence, Kansas.

Survivors include his wife Alice of the home; two sons Steven Taylor and wife Tina of Naples, Florida, Stan Taylor of Independence, Kansas; two daughters Dian West and husband Ed of Seligman, Missouri, Debbie McGuirk of Independence, Kansas; two brothers Ronald Taylor and wife Shirley or Independence, Kansas, Gary Taylor and wife Nina of Monett, Missouri; one sister Pat Archanbo and husband Edward of Texarkana, Texas; 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.
