Grace Ayers

Grace Ayers, age 82, of Caney, Kansas passed away Monday, May 14, 2012 at the Medicalodge in Coffeyville, Kansas. Cremation has taken place under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. Private memorial service will be held at a later date. The family has suggested memorials to the Grace Ayers Memorial Fund and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. Grace was born and raised in Caney, Kansas. She moved to California where she met and married Lewis J. Ayers. She moved back to Caney, Kansas in 1976. Lewis preceded her in death in 1972. Grace was a waitress at the Earls Caf in Caney, Kansas for many years. Grace was full of life and very out going. She loved life, loved to play cards, and yahtzee. She was an avid bird watcher. Grace loved to work in her yard, and especially her flower gardens. She had a very special cat. Grace loved people and especially her grandchildren. Grace is survived by sons, John Ayers of Tyro, Kansas Gary Zelesky of California and adopted son Joe Fry of Miami, Oklahoma. Daughter Donna Jones and husband Lloyd of Tyro, Kansas. Very close friends Bill Brenda Walker ten grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two children, four sisters and one brother.
