Glenn Meise

June 9, 1943 — August 28, 2015

Glenn Meise, 72, of Elk City passed away at his home Friday, August 28, 2015.
A Graveside Celebration of life Service will be held at 10:00 a. m., Wednesday, September 2, 2015 the Oak Hill Cemetery, Elk City, Kansas with the Reverend Gary Cole officiating. Burial will follow the service under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas.
A Book signing will be held from 9:00 a. m. to 5:00 p. m. Tuesday September 1, 2015, at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas
The family has suggested memorials to the Wounded Warriors organization and The Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice of Coffeyville contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Independence, Kansas.
Glenn was born on June 9, 1943 in Wichita, Kansas the son of Eldon A. and Juanita M. (Austin) Meise.
Following WWII the family moved to Covington, Oklahoma where he was a member of the Covington First Christian Church and attended school and graduated in 1961 after graduation he came to Kansas and worked in the oil fields he then attended Wichita State University from 1964 to 1970 being interrupted for military services in 1967 to 1969. He served19 months active duty, including 13 months as a NCOIC of the 25th.Medical detachment, serving as a combat medic. He returned to Wichita State University and graduated in 1970.
He went into the Sonic Drive In business and moved to Ottawa, Kansas. He was married to Charyl Anderson at Ottawa in 1973. They later divorced they had two children Christopher and Chasity.
After leaving the sonic business in 1978, he returned to Independence and worked for Layton Oil Company, Emersion Electric and Western Publishing Company and finally retiring from Cessna Aircraft after 13 years, in 2010.
Glenn was married in 1988 in Elk City, Kansas to Ramona Sullivan and enjoyed 27 years with his wife and family in Elk City.
Survivors include his wife Ramona of the home and five children Richard George of Coffeyville, KS. Randy George United States Army (Germany) Stacey Yakshaw of Sycamore, KS. Christopher
