Glen Olen Sutton, 74, Neodesha, Kansas passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2024, at home. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Potts Chapel and a Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at Zion Lutheran Church in Independence, Kansas. Memorial in honor of Glen may be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice and may be mailed to 1503 W. 11th St. Coffeyville, Kansas 67337.
Glen Olen Sutton was born September 30, 1949, in Independence, Kansas to Glen Olen Sutton and Thelma Mae (Cisco) Sutton. Glen attended grade school in Wayside, Kansas and then attended Independence High School. After finishing his education Glen attended and graduated from the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center in Wichita, Kansas where he served as the class president. After graduation Glen was employed by Montgomery County Sheriff Department, Independence, Kansas Police Department, Cherryvale, Kansas Police Department. Sedgwick County Sheriff Department before returning to Montgomery County Sheriff Department where he served as a deputy and then as Montgomery County Jail Administrator until his retirement in 2002. Glen enjoyed rebuilding old cars, hunting, and fishing in his free time. Glen is a long-time member of Zion Lutheran Church. Glen married Katherine Theel on March 11, 1995, at Zion Lutheran Church in Independence, Kansas. The couple has been happily married for 29 years.
Glen was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Timothy Sutton, one sister Christina Landsaw and one great grandson Matteo DeMusis. Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 29 years Katherine of the home, two sons; Tony Sutton (Helen), Burtton, KS; Todd ( Stacy) Sutton, Independence, KS; daughter Sara Cravens, Neodesha, KS; two step-son’s, Anthony George, Blue Springs, MO; Tommy George(Wendy), Lake Lotawana, MO; step-daughter, Rebecca (Jason) Wells, Collinsville, MO; step-son by choice, Troy Weatherhead, Graford, TX; step-daughter by choice, Brandie (Marion) Ft.
