Glen Salisbury

October 30, 1922 — February 20, 2015

Glen T. Salisbury, 93, of Independence passed away Friday February 20, 2015 at the Medicalodge of Independence, Kansas.
Graveside Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a. m., Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Independence, Kansas with the Reverend Brad Sanders officiating. There will also be Masonic Rites held. Burial will follow in the Mount Hope Cemetery in Independence under the direction of Potts Chapel of Independence.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 a. m. to 8:00 p. m. Tuesday February 24, 2015 with the family receiving friends from 7:00 p. m. to 8:00 p. m. at the Potts Chapel.
The family has suggested memorials to the Cornerstone Church in Caney, Kansas or the Harry Haynes Memorial Hospice of Coffeyville, Kansas and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel of Independence.
Glen was born October 30, 1922 in Independence, Kansas the son of Glen G. and Ruth A. (Thompson) Salisbury. He grew up in Independence and attended the Independence School System.
Glen served in the United States Army from January 1943 to September 15, 1945.
On September 21, 1942 in Fredonia, Kansas Glen was united in marriage to Dorothy E. Carter and the couple made their home in Caney, Kansas. Dorothy preceded Glen in death in September 2004.
Glen was self employed and operated a Television repair store.
He was a member of the Cornerstone Church in Caney, Kansas and Masonic Lodge in Caney, Kansas.
Survivors include a daughter Jean Ernest of Caney, Ks. and one son Dan Salisbury and wife Rhonda of Independence, Ks., five grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
