Geraldine Short

Geraldine M. Short, age 88, of Tyro, Kansas died early Sunday morning May 3, 2009 at the Coffeyville Regional Medical Center in Coffeyville, Kansas. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, May 7, 2009 at the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas with Evangelist David Bycroft officiating. Burial will follow in the Robbins Cemetery under the direction of the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. Visitation hours will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 6, 2009 with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. The family has suggested memorials to the American Cancer Society and contributions may be left at the Potts Chapel in Caney, Kansas. Geraldine was born October 1, 1920 in Dewey, Oklahoma to Otis and Grace Taylor Miller. On July 3, 1940 Geraldine married Earl Short in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker, beloved mother and grandmother and a member of the Tyro Christian Church. Survivors include one son Jerry Short of Tulsa, Oklahoma; two daughters Linda White of Tyro, Kansas and Mary Ernest of Caney, Kansas; nine grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and one great great grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two brothers and two sisters.
